Latest Fed minutes highlighted that tighter financial conditions, softer inflation, slower foreign growth, and trade policy uncertainty warranted its “patient” stance. Given that a) financial conditions have become looser so far this year and b) the trade tension between China and US has somehow moderated as of late, domestic inflation and global growth are key to gauge Fed’s policy outlook. President Trump announced that he would delay the hike in tariffs on Chinese imports, which was originally scheduled to take effect on 2 March. Investors ' sentiment has thus improved despite the length of the extension was not yet specified.
